1. Data controller

This document has been drawn up in accordance with the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP, in force since 1 September 2023). We only collect what is necessary for the Service to work: Olocal sets no advertising cookies and uses no third-party analytics or tracking tools to date.
2. Data we collect
- Mobile number: your account login, used to send you your login code and confirmations by SMS.
- First name, last name and email address (email is optional): to identify you, to let the partner recognise your booking when you arrive and, if you provided your email, to contact you that way.
- Bookings: chosen offer, venue, date and number of guests.
- Favourites: the venues you save.
- Answers to satisfaction surveys sent after your visit.
- “Ambassador” visits (scan of your QR code at a partner): time stamp and an anonymous device identifier, only to count your visits.
- Website visit statistics: IP address stored in hashed form (irreversible) and approximate location (city and country) derived from that address on our own servers, without the address itself being recorded or passed on to any third party, solely for aggregated audience measurement (IP Geolocation by DB-IP).
Your member QR code contains no personal data: it carries a technical identifier, not your name or number.
3. Why we use it
- creating and securing your account, allowing you to log in by SMS;
- processing your bookings and allowing you to benefit from offers at partners;
- sending you communications related to the Service (confirmation, reminder, survey);
- with your express and separate consent, passing your contact details to a partner so they can send you their own offers (see art. 5 of the Terms);
- measuring use of the Service in aggregated form, to improve it.
4. Who receives this data
Your data is never sold. It is shared only with:
- the partner involved in a booking, to the extent needed to honour it (first and last name, number of guests, date, and the mobile number masked on screen but reachable in one click);
- Infomaniak Network SA (Geneva, Switzerland), our hosting provider;
- Infobip, our SMS provider; sending an SMS involves technical processing by this provider, which may involve a transfer outside Switzerland. We only share what is strictly necessary to send it (number, message content).
5. Retention period
Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. You can ask for your account and its history to be deleted at any time (see art. 7 below).
6. Your rights
Under the nFADP, you have the right to access, correct, delete and object to the processing of your data. Your mobile number and email address can be changed directly in Settings in your account. For any other request, write to olocal@olocal.ch; we will reply within a reasonable time.
7. Deleting your account
You can ask for your account and all associated data (bookings, favourites, survey answers) to be deleted at any time, by email to olocal@olocal.ch, from the address or number linked to your account.
8. Cookies and local storage
The website uses your browser’s local storage (localStorage) to remember your region, your language and your session. These are purely functional settings: no advertising cookies, no profiling. Details are in our legal notice.
9. Security
Your mobile number is masked by default in the interfaces (only partly visible), including in the notifications received by partners. You access your account with a one-time code sent by SMS, with no stored password.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated; the date at the top of the page shows the last change.
This text was updated on 14.09.2026 to reflect how the Service actually works (nFADP, one offer at a time, no-show policy) under current Swiss law. We still recommend having it reviewed by a legal adviser before any major commercial change (paid products, new data processing, etc.).
